Introducing The Northants Parent Forum Group

Northants Parent Forum Group (NPFG) is an independent parent-led group formed and run by volunteers to represent the views of all families of children and young people up to aged 25 with special education needs and / or disabilities (SEND) in Northamptonshire.

We achieve this by empowering parents in effective participation with our partners in Education & Social Care within Northamptonshire County Council, our Health partners throughout Northamptonshire and other local organisations to positively improve services for our children and young people.

This section is for all things parent & carer orientated. Here you will find links and resources to parent and non professional organisations.

National Network of Parent Carer Forums (NNPCF) visit website
The National Network of Parent Carer Forums is a network of over 150 Parent Carer Forums in England. The forums are arranged into 9 regions and are shown below, these follow the same regional breakdown as the Department of Education; each of the regions has a regional representative. All regional representatives work together to form the national steering group.

The NNPCF is a network of local forums meeting in regional settings, working together to effect local and national service improvement through participation and co production with parent carers. Each Parent Carer Forum includes parent carers with a full range of experiences in Health, Education and Social Care as their children have a wide range of conditions.

Contact A Family (CAF) Parent Carer Participation visit website
Parent carers can help pinpoint problems frequently experienced by families with disabled children. This knowledge is useful to professionals to help them improve how children's services are delivered so they better meet families' needs. Parent carer participation is when parents and professionals work together, recognising each other's expert knowledge, to make informed decisions about children's services that make the best use of people's time and money.

CAF, work in partnership with the National Network of Parent Carer Forums (NNPCF), helping to support the development of the parent carer participation agenda and the development of local parent carer forums across England.
